How to choose a new TV

Buying a new TV is a major purchase. Even if you’re buying a cheaper 4K TV, it’s still a large part of your home so you want to get it right. Starting out, it’s important to think about what your budget is. TVs can be pretty cheap these days but they can also be very expensive if you want to spend a lot, so narrow things down by working out your price range. From there, think about what size of TV you need and check that it’ll fit well and look good in your living space. Big is great but not if it clutters up your home and makes things look awkward.

Once you’ve got those two essentials out of the way, think about what features you want. Read up on OLED and QLED technology and figure out which sounds most attractive to you. Also, see if there’s a particular operating system, voice asisstant support, or similar extras that sound good to you. If you plan on watching a lot of movies, a dedicated film mode could be useful while high refresh rates are great for gamers or fans of fast-moving action. Look out for terms like Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision if you’re keen to enjoy a more cinematic experience, both aurally and visually.

Two of the best Android phones are discounted for Cyber Monday
The Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro, side by side.

Cyber Monday is here again, and as part of Cyber Monday deals at Best Buy, you can get a fantastic deal on one of our favorite Google Pixel phones, either the Google Pixel 8 or the Google Pixel 8 Pro. Both are discounted quite a lot as part of the sales event, with the Pixel 8 losing $150 off of its standard price and the Pixel 8 Pro shedding $200. Take a look at both phones, and their associated deals, in the blurbs below before you decide on which one you want.
Google Pixel 8 — $549, was $699:

Starting with the stats, Google's Pixel 8 has a 6.2 inch, 1080p screen that refreshes up to 120Hz. It operates on the latest Google Tensor 3 processor and the Android 14 OS with 8GB of RAM, about the same as a fairly standard laptop. One of its coolest features comes in the form of its new Magic Eraser feature. When you take a photo with your Google Pixel 8's 50MP rear camera or 10.5MP front-facing selfie cam, you might find unwanted objects in the scene. All you need to do is tap the objects to select them and AI magic will erase them from the scene, replacing them with some GPT-style magic imagery. It also has a fantastic battery life, lasting well into the second day after a charge, which makes it (in terms of battery life) better than the Pixel 8 Pro. When you aren't using your lenses to make magic photos, you can even shoot 4K video.

This is our favorite Nintendo Switch Cyber Monday deal
A person plays Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on a Nintendo Switch in handheld mode.

We just found a Cyber Monday deal that is, admittedly, somewhat confusing in what you're getting and how much of a deal you're getting it for. It's the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle. It includes a Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and three months of Nintendo Switch Online for $300. Unfortunately, what this deal leaves out is how much this would cost without the deal, just telling us that it is a Cyber Monday deal. So, we did the math for you. What was found was that other Nintendo Switch deals are putting the console, alone, at $300. That means this bundle's bonus is the game and three months of online, which are worth approximately $68 when not on sale. In other words, this bundle is worth (very approximately) $368, but you are getting it for only $300. Tap the button below to see it for yourself or keep reading to see more about why this is one of our favorite Nintendo Cyber Monday deals.

Why you should buy the Nintendo Switch Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle
The Nintendo Switch is a game changer of a console. While it isn't as technically proficient as other recent consoles, it's a ton of fun. It's effectively a small tablet with a 6.2-inch LCD multi-touch display with it having its two Joy-Con controllers attached to either side to turn it into a highly proficient handheld console. At any time, you can dock it via its cradle so you can play it on a TV turning it into a regular TV-based console.
