Goodhandy's Saturday Night Opening
We had a great opening Saturday night at Goodhandy's.
The buzz amongst the T-Girls is good - finally a place for them to hang out.
"T-Girls on Parade" (which is what we are calling the Saturday nights) is going to be an interesting night to watch evolve - we want the night to be very mixed, with Trans-folk and other gendered people all partying together.
Paige enjoyed her first night as a bartender and Marishka (renamed Joyce when working as a waitress) said that she is really enjoying serving. Jas had a good week working as a bus-girl and our T-Boy waiter Owen said he had a fun first night. 18 year old skater-kid-T-boy Tyler (who can't work next week because he has to take a girl to a prom) worked as a floating security person and Tasha Jones worked as hostess. Tulsi came in with Marla Ponti and two back-up dancers (former Mr. El Convento Rico Renzo Garcia and current Mr. El Convento Rico Randell Ryan) and the group put on a midnight show. Mandy Goodhandy even came down the staircase in a red boa to perform Eartha Kitt's "Champagne Taste."
Sasha Van Bon Bon (burlesque entertainer in "the Scandelles") came on Saturday (one of my favorite columnists of all times, in any category), who writes "Love Bites" for Eye Weekly and our busboy Owen snapped this amazing photo during Mandy's show:
